Meagan Newton

Meagan Newton is an Adult Literacy trainer and mentor to other Literacy trainers in Tasmania. When Meagan realised that people with low literacy were facing more and more literacy challenges in the workplace, she decided to train as a literacy tutor and volunteer with Libraries Tasmania. Meagan enjoyed this so much that she continued studying, and in 2015, she started working with people with low literacy in the disability sector.

She is working with people with disabilities at Australian Disability Enterprises (ADE) to improve workplace and community language, literacy, and numeracy skills. Every day is different; being creative, ready to adapt, and having fun using evidence-based approaches to learning results in measurable literacy improvements with her students and continual engagement in learning.
