‘Where to from here’ information sharing on how to support your BFS Kiosk beyond June 2011

The Broadband for Senior’s project is scheduled to be concluded on 30 June 2011. This session will bring together representatives from the Australian Seniors Computer Clubs Association (ASCCA), U3A Online and Adult Learning Australia who will lead a conversation on some of the strategies you might like to consider to ensure your BFS Kiosk continues to provide older Australians with access to computers and the internet.

For instance, BFS Kiosks might consider forming an ASCCA Club – Nan Bosler will be able to share with participants what is required to move in this direction also how you might link with an existing ASCCA Club in your location. Some of your learners may feel very confident in their knowledge of computers and would like to learn about how they can access online courses – Rick Swindell from U3A Online will be able to provide you with this information and Rick will also have sound suggestions on how you might link with a U3A in your location.

Ron Anderson and Mary Hannan from Adult Learning Australia have visited a number of sites across the nation. Some of these sites are already planning for how they will support their Kiosk after June. This session will provide an opportunity to listen to some of these directions and importantly this session will provide an opportunity for participants to share their thoughts on the future of their BFS Kiosk.
