What are some of the issues facing volunteer tutors?

This session will be of interest to volunteer tutors who are working with or preparing to deliver training to seniors in a Broadband for Seniors Kiosk setting. Ron has been conducting a series of face-to-face visits to a number of BFS Kiosk sites in the Blue Mountain area of New South Wales and some sites in Western Sydney. Ron will share his observations about how the BFS Kiosks are moving forward with their training activities and some other possible initiatives for volunteer tutors.

Feedback from Ron and those volunteer tutors attending this Elluminate session will also provide a great opportunity to discuss and learn from each other about some of the tools volunteer tutors are using to engage their learners and how they are providing an environment which aims to build confidence, trust and an enjoyable experience for older learners.

Ron was the CEO for Adult Learning Australia (ALA) between 2004 and 2007 and Acting CEO for ALA in 2009.
