Some case study discussions from around NSW

Ron has been visiting a range of BFS kiosks in New South Wales. These visits have provided an opportunity for us to hear how host administrators and volunteer tutors have approached their training and engagement of older learners. Join us and hear about what is happening ‘on the ground’ at sites located in Oberon, Mudgee, Gulgong and other sites. If time permits Ron will briefly discuss the different learning styles we should be aware of when engaging older learners in training and we invite you to share your experiences as you progress with your training programs for the BFS project.

Ron was the CEO for Adult Learning Australia (ALA) between 2004 and 2007 and Acting CEO for ALA in 2009. His previous education based positions, prior to joining ALA included being a Primary Teacher; a Special Education Teacher; Senior Education Officer within NSW TAFE’s Curriculum Research Branch; Community College Principal and head of Western Sydney ITeC, a large labour market training organisation.

Ron has a Diploma in Special Education, pass degree majoring in Special Education and a Masters Degree related to the field of Ageing and Retirement.
