Adult Learning Australia (ALA) is the national peak body for the adult and community education, with individual and organisational members in all states and territories. ALA is committed to ensuring that all Australians have access to the benefits of lifelong and life-wide learning.

Our objectives are to:

  • advocate and promote accessible and quality learning for adults
  • research and advance innovative approaches to adult learning
  • develop and influence policy on adult learning
  • celebrate the joy of learning throughout the adult years.

Adult Learning Australia is seeking a highly skilled, experienced and passionate Chief Executive Officer, who can lead the organisation in terms of policy and business development, advocacy, and fulfil ALA’s vision for lifelong and life-wide learning for all Australians.

This key leadership role requires a strategic thinker who has a strong capacity to influence policy in the adult learning sector. Most importantly, they will have a strong understanding of and empathy for ALA’s mission and key policy areas.

The CEO reports to the ALA President and the Board, and is guided by ALA’s Governance Manual, which is based upon the Carver model.
