Adult Learning Australia (ALA) offers a wide range of professional services for the general public, government agencies, and the adult and community education (ACE) sector. Adult Learning Australia (ALA) has a proud history of managing and delivering successful programs, projects, and services across the adult and community education sector for over 65 years.

Research

ALA undertakes high quality, evidence-based research across adult learning and ACE policy areas. Our research informs practice, shapes policy, and supports advocacy. Explore our research here.

Publishing

ALA has published the Australian Journal of Adult Learning (AJAL) for 65 years; a respected, peer-reviewed journal recognised nationally and internationally and Australia’s leading journal on adult education. The journal supports critical thinking and showcases national and international research, theory and practice in adult and community education. Read the Journal.

ALA publishes Quest magazine three times a year. Quest is a digital publication that showcases inspiring stories, sector news, policy updates, innovative programs, and research in adult and community education across Australia. ALA provides high quality professional development for the ACE sector and adult education providers.
