Being a better tutor – tricks of the trade!

In this session Keith will explain some of the ‘tricks of the trade’ he has encountered in his journey as a tutor teaching seniors Information Technology. He will consider a range of topics within this heading for example:

  • What is a ‘tutor’?
  • Why become a tutor?
  • What’s in it for me?
  • Does a tutor have to be an expert?
  • I’m not sure I know enough to be a tutor?
  • So how should I approach being a tutor?

This session provides a great opportunity for new volunteer tutors who are about to commence tutoring in their local Broadband for Seniors Kiosk.  He also wants to hear ideas and suggestions from other tutors.

Keith is an experienced computer tutor. Before retirement, his background included time giving industrial training and Toastmasters.
