  • 1.00pm AEST – 2:00pm AEST

It’s that time of the year again! You are invited to attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM) where we come together to celebrate, reflect, and welcome new faces to our Board while bidding farewell to those whose terms have ended.

This event will be online via Zoom, and all are welcome to attend however only ALA members have voting rights.

We’re excited to announce that our special guest speaker for this year’s event is Sally Thompson. Sally will be delivering an insightful presentation titled ‘Conflictual Cooperation: Supporting People with Low Literacy’. This promises to be an engaging session that sheds light on crucial issues within our field.

Please RSVP by COB Tuesday 14th May to secure your spot at the AGM. Zoom meeting details will be provided upon confirmation of your attendance.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Sally Thompson

Sally Thompson is an education professional with a background in Adult Literacy. She is a former CEO of ALA, previous member of the Victorian Adult Community and Further Education (ACFE) Board and a current Victorian Co-convenor of Women in Adult and Vocational Education (WAVE).

Sally has recently completed PhD research on how communities support adults with low literacy and will cite this in her ALA AGM presentation.
