ALA webinar: Building foundation skills for adult learners

Anita RobertsThe National Foundation Skills Strategy for Adults highlighted the importance of building foundation skills for all adult learners. But keeping abreast of new developments in this area can be a challenge for time poor practitioners.

This webinar is designed to put recent foundation skills initiatives into perspective. It will:

  • introduce participants to the FSK Foundation Skills Training Package and explain how it can be used in a variety of learning environments
  • highlight available support resources and professional development initiatives
  • provide information on new units and skill sets for vocational practitioners who need to address foundation skills in their practice.

Our presenter, Anita Robert, is the project co-ordinator at the Foundation Skills Workforce Development Project – a collaborative, national project to support the National Foundation Skills Strategy for Adults.

Anita has worked within the vocational education and training system at the national level since 1995 and has extensive experience in language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) policy in the VET sector. She has co-ordinated a variety of LLN projects and authored a number of reports and publications on behalf of Industry Skills Councils.

Cost: ALA members no charge – Non members $45.00
