$12.2 million for Vocoation Education & Training Infrastructure in Tasmania

TASMANIA TO RECEIVE $12.2 MILLION FOR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING INFRASTRUCTURE (TAS)

Premier and Minister for Education and Skills, David Bartlett, today welcomed Australian Government funding of $12.2 million to modernise and improve the quality of teaching and learning of vocational education and training (VET) in Tasmania. The Tasmanian Polytechnic and Tasmanian Skills Institute, with Skills Tasmania, have been successful in securing the Training Infrastructure Investment for Tomorrow (TIIFT) funding which will improve teaching and learning in construction and hospitality in Launceston. Mr Bartlett said the funding would include $6.4 million for the Tasmanian Skills Institute for a new state of the art Construction and Allied Trades facility in Launceston.
