ALA Webinar: ‘Best-practice’ competency-based assessment

In this interactive webinar we’ll cover key knowledge that assessors need to ensure that their assessment practice is of the highest-possible standard. We’ll help new entrants get ‘up to speed’ with ‘best practice’ assessment, and help experienced assessors refresh skills and remain ‘current’ with their assessment practice.

Who will find this webinar useful?

New or experienced RTO assessors or managers of assessors.

Outcomes

By the end of this webinar participants should be able to:

  • Explain the Principles of Assessment and the Rules of Evidence, and how assessors use these concepts to ensure ‘best practice’ assessment
  • Define ‘competency’ and identify forms of evidence that demonstrate competence
  • Identify current industry expectations for ‘best practice’ assessment.

‘’Best-practice’ competency-based assessment’ will be the second of four presentations throughout 2018 presented by Chemène Sinson.

Chemène Sinson is a learning, development and performance consultant who specialises in VET and TAE qualifications. She is a TAE trainer, and has designed learning and assessment materials for the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment that have been used by more than 100 RTOs since they were first introduced in 2009. Her primary interest is in ‘best practice’ learning design and facilitation for the modern era and speaks regularly on related topics at conferences and special events.
