ALA LLN webinar: Validation of ACSF assessment resources
Presenter: Philippa McLean
When: Wednesday 17th June 2020 @ 1–2pm AEST
Duration: 1 hr
Cost: Free for members of LLN Network | $50 non-Network members
This webinar is for adult language, literacy and numeracy practitioners to come together and look at aspects of quality language, literacy and numeracy assessment. It provides an excellent opportunity to gain external validation of tasks mapped to the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).
About the ACSF
The ACSF provides a validated framework of national benchmarks for the identification and description of core skill performance for adult language, literacy and numeracy in Australia.
The structure for this webinar involves participants sharing one small assessment task or strategy for the group to validate. If you are willing to share an assessment task or strategy, please provide:
- an assessment task or strategy
- the ACSF level
- the ACSF core skill.
For these sessions to be successful, it is really important to share your learning and assessment strategies, which should be emailed to Adult Learning Australia five (5) days prior to the event.
If you would prefer to keep your assessments anonymous within the session, just let us know. Assessments should be emailed to ALA’s Membership Officer by Thursday 12th March 2020.
Our presenter, Philippa McLean will guide the validation session. Philippa has extensive experience in adult language, literacy, and numeracy and is highly regarded as a language, literacy and numeracy expert.
She was a member of the consortium that developed the original ACSF and has managed subsequent revisions of the Australian Core Skills Framework including the ACSF Pre Level 1 Supplement.
Philippa has facilitated both state and national professional development in the area of LLN in VET practice.
